Hi, I got stuck on this question

Find the exact area enclosed between the curve
y = e^2x and the

lines
y = 1 and x = 2.

Can anyone tell me how I can go about doing this question, Im a bit confused at the y= and x=, you dont have to show me the working, just how I can go about doing it.

Thanks

Draw a diagram to find out which region you need to integrate. In this question you should integrate along x axis. So it should be clear that:

Here u are finding the area between the 2 "curves" i) and ii) y = 1 all the way from x = 1 (where y = 1) to x = 2.

If u know how to find area between 2 curves this should be straightforward.

What I would do is find the total area between the curve and x axis then subtract the rectangle under like shown here:

I got the area around 24.799m^2 ?

This is good but this technique is a bit advanced for 2unit. All he's done was translate the graph down by 1 space and integrated it along the x axis
