What are the steps used to solve this question? Find the exact length of the tangent from (4,-5) to the circle x^2 + 4x + y^2 - 2y -11 = 0.

I would use Pythagoras' Theorem.

But you first need to complete the square to find the radius and centre of the circle.

It should
You use distance formula for the centre(-2,1) and the point given
and the radius should be 4 from there on u can use pythagoras to fin the answer
