Re: Favorite Harry Potter Book

hmmmmmmm!
well, although lots of the initial wonder has worn off, i first read the goblet of fire and it was the best thing ever.
so a roughish guestimation would be:

1. order of the phoenix
2. goblet of fire
3. half blood prince.
4. chamber of secrets.
5. prisoner of azkaban
6. philosophers stone.

though its all thoroughly interchangable. not set at all. each book has its amazing bits and after i read one after a while, or for the first time it is wonderful.

Chamber of Secrets would have to be my favourite. Just that opening image of Dudley's bottom drooping over the sides of his chair.... ahh classic *wipes tears of laughter from face*

Something I find profoundly cool is that we - those people our age.. 17/18 years old... have grown up with Harry.

Not many people from many generations can claim to have done that.

NONE in fact. Just us!

yes i know. we've grown up with harry. cool isnt it? and as harry has become older jk has seemingly written for a slightly older audience. i mean, the philosophers stone aims at much younger people than the half blood prince.

lol it just looks like ive gone backwards but iunno i think they got better as they go along, like the writing and the plotlines matured and so i can appreciate the newer ones more, also cos ive read the originals to death :)

Re: Favorite Harry Potter Book

i love all of them but my favourites... toss-up between prisoner, HBP and goblet. can't choose. and the first one has a special place in my heart... so this post is pretty pointless haha

i obviously don't dislike any of them either, but if i had to choose a least favourite, it would be order of the phoenix.

Re: Favorite Harry Potter Book

1. HBP- i loved all of it, especially the look into Voldemort's past.

2. PoA- this was the first one I ever read, so I have a soft spot for this one. I really like the books where there is less action, and more revelations.

3. CoS- this one is so far the only HP book that scared me. The oh-so-descriptive images of creepy messages written in blood on the walls really freaked me out. I actually dropped the book at one point.

4. GoF

5. PS

6. OotP

1. Goblet of Fire
2. Philosopher's Stone
3. Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. Half-Blood Prince (thought it was forgettable)
6. Order of the Phoenix (even more forgettable - truly didn't like this book, and it felt like a chore to read)
