i have to perform a fermentation prac but i dont understand how i can actually use some of the equipment
the equipment are
glucose 50g
yeast 2g
conical flask (250ml)x2
beaker (150ml) x2
microscope lamp
water
watch glass x2
glad wrap
feed tube and stopper x 2
limewater 100ml
spatula
thermometer x 2
The thing i dont understand is how can i use the thermometer, i mean if i attach the feeding tube with the stopper where do i put the thermometer? At the same time another problem arises, can the lamp keep the glucose/yeast/water mixture at a constant temperature around 37 degrees?
the criteria says a control is needed: so i decided to set up the exact same apparatus but without the yeast as the control. So that it will confirm that the limewater turns milky white because of the carbon dioxide produced from the fermentation rather than the limewater reacting with the carbon dioxide from the air. Is this control logical?
i know this is long but please help= DDDD
