Hi guys,

So i have my practical in biology (as well as chem, physics) in a few days and the truth is, I ve gotten pretty bad marks for my pracs in year 10, an I'm really worried as its worth 15 per cent. Any tips or recommendations for first prac or any experiences that I should watch out for.

I'm guessing there's two parts
actual prac:
-make a clear easy-to-follow method
-set up using the right equipment
-measure properly
-eliminate errors by recording everything down and fix up stuff if you need to
report writing:
-title (i think it's provided somewhere when your teacher gave the task)
-aim (provided also)
-hypothesis (educated guess- if what you think will happen and why)
-variables (independent, dependent, controlled)
-method (written in in steps) and diagrams if needed
-discussion: discuss errors (while you performed the prac) and how to improve them, reliability (did you repeat it? did you get constant results?) validity (did it meet the aim and was reliable?)
-conclusion: what did you find out from the experiment in regards to your hypothesis? why so? (using scientific explanation)

something you should do is research the actual experiment to see how other people did it. Also, good luck!
