My advice to you would be to get as much practice as possible speaking with other people - im not sure of the beginners syllabus - but im guessing you have to speak about yourself and family and interests? speak to other people your age. You could even attend extra classes at the alliance francaise or other french schools/classes, which could help with your conversational skills.

Try and find a french tutor to help you with your speaking and pronunciation skills. I would strongly recommend you to the syllabus, even though the content is quite broad. Past hsc examinations also help to prepare you for assessments. Hope this helps!
