What's considered a strong rank, whats considered a weak rank kind of thing? Im just confused.

So say out of 15 is 4th/15 considered good?

Or 8/15?

Is there a general rute that dictates good and bad ranks?

It depends on your school's ranking.

eg. 4/15 in a high ranking school (James Ruse) is much better than 4/15 in a low ranking school.

Generally 4/15 is considered a strong rank. 8/15 is considered poor. Though usually people take into account school's rank, in order to determine your approximate position within the state which is much more important.

Yes, a rank of 4 in your school would be excellent

no. 4th is so shit, especially if your school is only rank ~50

Depends what you are aiming for, if you want 98atar+, then 4/15 wouldn't be where you want to be.
It also depends on how smart your class is.

Also depends on subjects. In a 50~ ranked school, 4/15 in subjects such as chem/phys/mx1/mx2 is definitely enough to get 98+ ATAR.
