Hi all,

A friend and I have organised an open four day trek on the Great North Walk from Hornsby to Brooklyn with Sydney Coastal Walks these holidays (from the 2-5th of Jan).

This trek is available for bronze, silver and gold participants as it has exit points for each level. So after you have completed the required amount for your level, you can leave! E.g. Silver finishes on the 3 day, so they can leave on that day.

In addition, this trek begins at Hornsby station, so it is very accessible via train or bus. At bronze, it finishes in Berowra Heights (4km/an hours walk away from the train station), Silver at Cowan Station and Gold in the town of Brooklyn not far from the station.

With a group of 10 every day, it only costs $65 per person per day, regardless of level, but with less than 10 people a day, it will cost $650 divided by the number of people per person per day. E.g. 6 people on day 4 = $650/6 = $108 per person for that day. This cost includes National Park entry fees, camping fees and GST.

At the moment, we are only certain that 8 people are going- 3 bronze, 1 silver, 4 gold - and a possible 2 others - 1 silver, 1 gold. Although we will possibly have 10 on the first two days, our last 2 days will be more expensive as we won't have enough people to meet $65 per person.

That's why I'm asking you all, if you are doing Duke of Ed, to please join. It will be great fun, you'll most probably meet lots of new people and make new friends since it's an open trip.

So please consider joining especially if you're doing the HSC next year, so you can get it over and done with before year 12 and you can get your bonus points!

Here is the website to the company: http://www.sydneycoastwalks.com.au/duke-of-ed/

Thanks :D
