It would be a good idea to leave past HSC exam papers aside for now. This is for two reasons:
  • Attempting past HSC exams should be done in preparation for your HSC exam rather than an internal assessment task/exam. Past HSC exams provide the best indication of the questions that could be included in your own HSC exam, which is the reason that they should be used to prepare for the HSC exam rather than to prepare for an internal exam. Of course, when preparing for your HSC exam, you can complete past trial exams, especially if you are looking for more challenging questions that can typically be found in trial papers.
  • There is an abundance of school-based resources that are available for you to use in preparation for your class test. These include assessment tasks and exams (mainly trial exams, but perhaps also topic tests).
Based on this, you should ideally use a combination of past exam papers (whether it be trial papers or class test papers/topic tests) to prepare for your class test. Additionally, you may wish to consider completing textbook questions, which can be helpful if you feel the need to review your knowledge of particular concepts.

I hope this helps! :D
