Desperate help is needed please on this EEI. "when a heated ball bearing is placed on a set of parallel tracks it moves.Explain this Phenomenon"

This is my Extended Experimental Investigation ( EEI ) Topic atm. All they have given me was the above sentence, nothing else.I have heated the ball bearing and placed it on a set of parallel ( close to each other ) Alluminium Tracks. but it didn't move.if you are a physics genius would you kindly help me in this pleaseeeeeeeeeease. What can i do to make it move.I used a bicycle ball bearing and heated it on a burner and then placed it on the tracks.Nothing happend. The tracks are provided by the school.A teacher said we may have to pass electric current through the tracks or so.But that's not wht the topic sentnce says. Please help. thanks
