Hey all,

I have this research task on Water and it requires a description of "more than 1 type of test to discover the presence of heavy metals in water" (3 marks therefore need 3 methods min)

AAS is cleary the first one that comes to mind but having trouble finding anything about any others.

Anyone know anything or a good place to look?

Cheers.

Reacting with Na2S works well. As Sulfides will precipitate at different ph's. Other techniques include: colourimetry, chromatography, and mass spectroscopy.

There's the soap scum test for qualititatively. Quantitatively, there's AAS and colourimetry.
