Hey guys, im confused with the way UNI's look at "assumed knowledge" when applying.

I want to enter the University of Sydney studying "Animal Veterinary and Bioscience". The assumed knowledge is Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology would help. Im currently studying: 2U, Adv Eng, Biology, Physics, Senior science.

Does this mean I cannot apply for the course? I've done work experience at veterinary clinics and RSPCA's. Will I still be able to get in?

Thanks for any help :)

I think bridging courses are available prior to the start of uni, so you can learn the 'assumed knowledge' subjects

They don't look at your subject selection when you get in. You will just probably need to do a bridging course so you can understand what your lecturers are talking about, etc.

So don't worry, as long as you get a good STAT (i think you need this for the bioscience as well as the practical course?) and a good atar, you'll get in.

It means that they'll assume you've done the course already - so if you haven't, they'll be assuming you know things that you actually don't. But you can still do the course. Unis offer bridging courses but I don't know what they actually teach in them.
