HELLO EVERYONE,

So I got set these questions as homework questions about Hatshepsut (it is actually just mock questions for our upcoming assessment task). I was just wondering how to go about answering these questions and if there are any good primary and/or secondary sources to use for the responses as evidence - even any historians/books/images. Please help!!! First week back and already worried ((

1. How did Hatshepsut's family background impact on her claim to the throne and succession?
2. Describe Hatshepsut's relationship with the Amun priesthood.

1. So, Hatshepsut was the daughter of Pharaoh Thutmose I. Her lineage is royal, her mother Queen Ahmose is a direct descendant of the founders of the 18th dynasty.

2. Hatshepsut was incredibly close with them. They are referred to as her "galaxy of satellites" by Wilson as they surrounded her and enabled her accession to the throne. She also gave back to them frequently, all spoils of the Punt expedition were "in the name of Amun Re"
