Hey all. I'm only in Year 11 but I hope its okay to post here.
At the moment, we are studying Bruce Dawe, and quite a few of his poems.
The one we are currently doing is Homo Suburbiensis. For homework this weekend, the teacher has given us a bunch of questions to answer and I'm stuck of this one. Ive read it over and over and tryed to figure it out but nothing is working. I've asked a friend, and even another person on here [thats in year 12 advanced] but they didnt understand it either.
Anyway heres the question, and heres a link to the poem
2 Unit General English: Bruce Dawe: Homo Suburbiensis
"Sonnets tend to have a predictable and regular rhyme sheme. What is the rhyme scheme for this poem? Note that there is a progressive breakdown in the rhyme scheme in part of this poem. Does a rhyme sheme reassert its self as the poem moves towards a conclusion? Is there a breakdown in the rhyme scheme at its worst in the eighth line where the poem is broken?"
Thanks for any help in advance!!
