HELP! Physics project (1 Viewer)

Can someone give an idea on how to start this type of project:

"a DC motor that can be used to lift a 50g mass from the floor, 1 metre below, at a flick of a switch."

Any help would be appreaciated

yeh well u can start off by pullin up

think about what it means to be pulling up a 50g mass: what forces are acting on that mass? how would u need to build a motor that could overcome that force?

also, DC motors usually involve a rotor... how are u gonna use something that turns in order to pull something up? think about pulley systems....
