help needed on these questions:

a)Find the coordinates of the point on the curve y=8x-x^{2} where the normal is parallel to the line x+2y-5= 0

b) The normal to the curve y=1/8x^(2) at P(2,1/2) meets the curve again at Q. Find the coordinates of Q.

this is something you shouldnt route learn, you should learn the theory, its questions similar to these that got people suprised in this years HSC because they didnt understand the concepts.
i will give you a little pointer and you can try it again...
call this x+2y-5= 0 equation 1
this y=8x-x^{2} equation 2
change equation 1 into point gradient form so you can read the gradient, and also remember parallel means they have the same gradient
differentiation of equation 2 gives the 'gradient formula ;)

try work it out from there
