" If x = T + 1/T and y = T - 1/T, express y as a function of x "

x²-y²=T²+2+1\T²-(T²-2+1\T²)=4
x²=4+y²

No THere should be no T in your answer
Hint Evaluate x^2-y^2!
aha...
well this is what i get....

x2 - y2 = (T+1/T)2 - (T-1/T)2 = 4

therefore: x2 - y2 = 4

therefore: y2 = x2 - 4

and y = square root (x2 - 4)

2--2=4?

x²-y²=T²+2+1\T²-(T²-2+1\T²)=4

when u square x dont u get like t^4 and it wouldn't be a 2 + 1 in there ???
i am lost need to understand it can you explain why you are doing what you are doing ?

expand (T+1/T)2 - (T-1/T)2.. and see what u get
