Could somebody tell me in a paragraph or two about how the Pertrov Affair led to Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War?

Ok, don't blame me on the detail. I memorized all this info for SC and blandly forgot it the day after!

-The petrov affair created conspiracy that there were secret communist rings in the government. Thus, creating fear in the wider community.

I wouldn't say it directly led to Australia's involvement but as girlworld_club said it increased the fear of communism which one of five major reasons for Australia's involvement in the war.
