Alright, the title of this thread is ambiguous. Hear me out.

One of my subjects is Legal Studies. The way I 'remember' stuff, is by taking notes, and putting them into a flashcard app.

For Maths, I don't use flashcards. Instead, I apply what I've learnt in class to homework questions. Since they only set a certain chapter once in high school, how can I ensure that I don't forget what's taught in that exercise? Index Laws, for instance, was the first topic of Year 11. I haven't forgotten them because I use them in almost all questions I get given, but what about something like Trig Functions, where you're not going to require them for every question? How would I remember how to calculate the asymptote scale? What about x-scales?

I feel like I need to have some kind of schedule which is delayed by two or so weeks, which reminds me to complete the topic from two weeks ago. If, for instance, I learnt Calculus 2 weeks ago, I'd be doing the chapter review questions now. What do you do to ensure that you don't forget stuff?

practice questions. And as you get close to finishing the course, practice exams makes you use the content again

Time for some theoretical talk. Here, apply schemas from the topics, yes I am talking about the general ideas behind each topic because the idea is when you develop your schemas for your important topics they will naturally flow through in the different topics. As such it will be easier to keep the topics in your head because you actually use less cognitive load when encountering them again because you have developed your big library of schemas for that topic.

Note schemas refer to the pattern of the topic and what is in there that can provide you assistance with the questions. Works like a mnemonic but in a more technical way.

If you don't understand what schemas are after my response go search up schemas or in general schema theory and you will see why I would suggest that.
