I have been told a guy in my group of friends likes me. Now I am not exactly good friends with him, more of an acquaintance but I really am not at all attracted to him. Now - I don't want to say anything first cos it could be that some of my friends are just trying to fuck with my head (unlikely though) and I don't want to embarrass him. My other friend reckons we should invent a boyfriend for me and the end....Has anyone else been in this situation before?

I actually don't is the thing. I really don't know him well enough to even talk to him on his own without feeling awkward. But I don't want to create an 'awkward' feeling in the group if I reject him and we have to avoid eachother. I don't think I would be friends with him after school...

thats the right idea, drop hints like that which say 'if you ask me out i will say no so dont bother' ... you could also maybe talk about another guy you like or something while hes in earshot (not to hurt him, just to make him realise pursuing you wouldnt work out for him).mr_brightside said:

IMO confront him one-on-one and lay down the rules. Say to him "someone told me you like me, I don't care if that's true, but either way I want you to know I'm not interested". High school boys, especially those in a mixed "group" are spineless. If you show some courage and tell him how he is, he will back away quick smart.Gwenny said:
