Can anyone tell me the correct way of footnoting...... Because if heard millions of ways and i dont have a clue which way is correct? What is the best referencing mwthod for my major work!..... Anyone???..... its for my major work due due on monday ! .....

even though pwaryuex will come on here and say im wrong i will show you the way my ext hist teacher who is a hsc marker asked me to footnote my major work.

name of book
author
date published
page and chapter reference

for example

Aegyptiaca, Manetho 2000bc, volume 1 page 23

(and yes i know that aegyptiaca wasnt written in 2000bc)

harvad method is the easiest i have come to have known.

last name of author, first name of author; name of book, edition if there is one, publisher, year published.

Here's a question that's bugging me- what do you do if you don't know the publication details of a book?

I know it was published around 1909, because that date is written at the end of the introduction, but other than that there are no other details. Should I just leave them out and explain why in the annotation?
