How do you strum a ukulele? (1 Viewer)

I just got one today and I've tried using the side of my thumb, my index finger, pretending there's a pick in my hand and using all my fingers in a ~sweeeping~ motion

None of these felt comfortable and I couldn't pick up the strumming speed

Do you just get used to it or

If you've never played one before then yes, you'll have to get used to it.

I find however that if I'm not using a pick (which I never do with a Ukulele) that instead of forming the grip that I normally would with a pick, I alternate between strumming with thumb/fingers and this works a lot better (also leaves it open for fingerpicking).
