The more units of eng you do the better right, is 2u eng advanced to little for law? even though there are no prerequisites, will unis prefer to go for people who do more eng? (im thinking of science law combined)

You don't need special skill to be able to analyse the context of texts or whatever from 3u English.
You need to be able to write well, with clear logical development, an appropriate vocab etc. and also be able to understand written text (which is usually quite dense). If you can do this, you can do law - this doesn't correspond to any particular skill set which is learned in 3/4u english.
Do the level of English that suits you and will get you the best marks, i.e. the one you will do best in. They dont check and most of the skills required can be learnt!
