Analysing texts are really basic.
+Read the text out aloud a few times so that you become familiar with it
+You should try to understand tha content of the poem (if you need help, then i suggest you consult a study guide)
+Get a penicil and go through the poem line by line, annotating the text by identifying its techniques. The AOS paper is a TECHNIQUES paper and is basically testing on your ability to identify composer's techniques and to articulate them into an argument to explain how these techniques illustrate meaning towards your focus journey. Poetic devices such as alliteration, repetition, enjambment, chronological order, symbolism, imagery; are all used to illustrate a form of "journey".
+Once you are done, then pick the techniques that you think that are most effective/obvious in regards to your focus journey and write a line or two about it relating the technique to the journey, for example: The use of enjambment illustrates the composers flow and continuity of their journey
