How would I structure the body paragraphs. Instead of the quote section like with a text, would I just describe what happens in the scene and then analyse it using film techniques?
According to Tacitus's advanced english essay writing guide you need:
-thesis
-contextualisation
-quote
-technique
-linkage

So how would I use this to write a film essay? How do I "quote" my visual evidence from the film??????

thanks!!

To "quote" (haha quote within quotes) a film technique, you can transition off saying "(Director's name) uses (film technique) to say (what does the technique say) ...(to what effect)"." I probably didn't string that well but effect is linked with purpose. There must be a reason for using a particular camera angle (subjectively, draws emotions), music, colour palette, costuming etc. How did the technique make you feel? This technique acts as evidence, as a quote would for a written text, so make sure it supports your idea for that paragraph.
