So my friend recently had a car accident and has been diagnosed with island short term memory loss or something and has damaged their hand and eyes. I said they should apply for special provisions, but then my mum said (who is a teacher) that they would just give them estimates as they are pretty much screwed.

I'm wondering if this is a real thing, do people actually get estimates or is she just giving me the usual bs?

yeah but he has to organise to get an estimate before the exam. you can't just not attend the exam and THEN tell them you couldn't attend.
