Implanon and other contraceptives (1 Viewer)

So my missus is thinking about getting the implanon implant in her arm. Just wondering if any other females have got this and if so, what have been the side effects etc.

For people who dont know, "Implanon is a small plastic rod containing the hormone progestogen which is inserted just underneath the skin of the upper inner arm and provides protection against pregnancy for the three years it is left in place."

It is as effective as a condom or the pill, but is much cheaper, something liek $10-20 for 3-4 years. Anyone have any experience with it?

it was actually the alleged negligence of the doctor who inserted the contraceptive, rather than the failure of the contraceptive itself. in any case, wrongful birth claims are interesting, as are the Harriton and Stephens caseshttp://www.austlii.edu.au/au/other/hca/bulletin/hcab0511.html#internal170 currently reserved in the High Court.

see i can trust a condom or the pill because its something you have to use every time you have sex or every day as the case might be. something that just get shoved in my arm and i've got no control over... well thats kinda risky.
