do they ask questions on prelim??
In my opinion, prelim is part of HSC. What I mean is that HSC is not just year 12. It is a combination of year 11 and 12. For example, in HSC Mathematics, the 30% of the whole exam can be/is based on prelim. Similar for Extension 1 Mathematics. It is more significant in General Mathematics.

On top of that, prelim is a basis for many HSC subjects such as Chemistry, Biology and Physics. It is assumed that you know everything in prelim before you commence your HSC. They will not ask you specific topic in prelim but the questions in HSC are indirectly related to prelim.

So, you have to make sure that you are familiar with your prelim topics. Good luck.

Yeah, I believe so. Whilst your marks from the Preliminary year(s) will not count towards your HSC mark, the Preliminary content is part of the HSC Content. For instance, first chapter of Year 11 was Basic Legal Notions, and I believe that that is the basis for Year 12's first topic: "Law and Society".

yeh, theyd use year 12 info, but most of the prelim stuff is needed to know the background of most yr 12 subjects...for me i find the prelim work in modern and ancient really necessary

I agree with what has been said here,

the only real part of year eleven content in legal studies you should be well grounded in is the basic legal notions, as it was said they are the basis for law and society.
But they can not test your focus studies from year eleven, or so we have been told. but the hsc will examine you on law and society and human rights with multiple choice and short answer.
then there are your focus studies, for me they will be crime, famil and global.

in subjects like maths and what not, it is a different matter, 30% of questions can be on year eleven content.

Good Luck Mate

Not on the specific content from the prelim course, but obviously you need to have an understanding of prelim.
Basically, if you already had prelim down-pat there's no need to study it or anything for the HSC.
