Hi
I'm a bit confused with the concept cos different textbooks say different things:
1. It is when the pairs of genes segregate, each chromosome is independent from other pairs of genes. (e.g. gene for freckles is independent of genes for height) They do not affect each other when segregating.
2. It is the second cell division occurs between the chromatids of the DNA chromosomes. Each chromatid is unique and the separate into two new cells at random, which are, the haploid gametes.
which one would be correct??
Thanks anyone for help!!!
and good luck for all your exams!!
