Is proof by contradiction an okay to show an inequality statement is true? Or should you try other ways first?

Defs try other methods first. It's extremely rare that an inequality will be easier / more natural to prove by contradiction than directly.

Usually in HSC proof by contradiction is needed for "Prove something is irrational" other than that I've never seen it used
