Inertial frame of reference exp. (1 Viewer)

Hey

you guys know that exp regarding an inertial frame?
Where a person holds a pendulum and is stationary, or has constant velocity or is accelerating...

what are the variables that need to be controlled? what could be the possible questions asked in regards to this exp? can any question regarding reliability and accuracy be asked related to this question?

this is a really simple experiment, you dont really have to go too deep into it.

just from the top of my mind
variables:
the motion of yourself, ie. try not 2 move
atmospheric disturbences like wind, ie try 2 keep 2 the minimum

valid if the variables above are o.k.
which would imply accuracy and reliabilty in this experiment


If you want to use the experiment to work out some quantitative figure then it would b more complex. variables would depend on ur method of measurement, and more factors relating to the actual quantitative measure would need 2 b considered when discussing validity, reliability etc.

but since this is most unlikely to be the case, there wont be anything significant asked related to this experiment (which is more of a simple test). the most probable question would be to describe an experiment to determine if one is in an inertial or non inertial frame of reference...worth ~ 2 marks.

err, we just walked up and down the classroom with holding plumbobs, looking at the difference in its motion when we were in constant motion/accelerating
