Hi

Just wondering if you guys can help me with these questions because I did them and my answers were wrong according to the answers and the back of the handout. So I am not sure if my answers are wrong or if the sheet answer is wrong. Can you guys please show full working and solution.Will greatly appreciated

2. If f(x)= (x-1)^2 +3, x>= 1

Find

i)f^-1' (4)

ii) f^-1' (5)

iii) f^-1' (x), x>3

Please note that the dash is included for the question.

What were your answers or more importantly what did you find the inversion f'n to be?

inverse= 1 +/- sqrt (x-3)

then just sub-in the values

You have to differentiate it first before you put in the values.

It's not f^-1 it's f^-1 dashed.

Find inverse function - take note of what part you're taking the inverse of, and draw a picture to assist you.
Differentiate - because it's dashed.
Sub-in values.
