Would it be crazy for me to make an app for dt (not a game, more info giving) even though I have no experience in this at all????

No it certainly isn't. Since there the iPhone and andriods are more popular now than ever it wouldn't call it crazy at all.
You would need to do some research on how to make an app though. There was a girl who made an app for people with the L's and it kept track of your driving log book. I have no idea how well she did but I certainly thought it was clever
