Q8 Would you consider yourself to be religious? technically christian, but i'm not particularly into it.

b.) If so what religion do you confide by? ^

Q9 Are your religious beliefs influenced by your parents? in that we rarely go to church, yes .. my dad's fairly religious but my mum isn't, and they've never tried to push me for/against religion, they want to let me choose what i want to believe.

Q10 Is your religion a symbol of heritage/ culture? no.

Q11. Are you required to sacrifice anything to show respect for the higher power in which you believe? If so, what is it? no, and i don't think it's right personally.

Q12. In you religious faith what do you feel you gain from your religion? i don't really follow religion as in praising a certain god or anything, but i think a lot of christian ideals of just treating people decently and being respectable are (i'd like to think) kind of evident in my life.

Q13. How often do you pray/ worship your divine leader? i don't.

Q14. Does praying/worshipping help resolve problems .eg. anxiety or fear?

Q15. How much do you know about other religions? honestly, not much. i have absolutely nothing against them though (as long as they're not extreme about it)

Q16. Would you convert to another religion if it corresponded more with your way of life? Why/why not?; actually, i probably would. but being that i don't know much about other religions, its not something i've really thought about yet.

4. Regardless of whether we are natural or supernatural in origin, we can give meaning to our lives by practicing love and morality

Q8 Would you consider yourself to be religious?
yes, very much so;

b.) If so what religion do you confide by?
Greek Orthodox

Q9 Are your religious beliefs influenced by your parents?
Yes, as I have learnty from them and grown up in a religious household. I have the option to not believe, but I do believe as it is a part of me

Q10 Is your religion a symbol of heritage/ culture? ----------
I believe it is, yes. My family and past generations have been Greek Orthodox and I intend to carry that through

Q11. Are you required to sacrifice anything to show respect for the higher power in which you believe? If so, what is it? Eg volunteer work, money.
I sacrifice what I want to. ie. I'm never required to sacrifice or believe. It is by choice. I know I have respect for the higher power in which I believe, and that is all that matters to me.

Q12. In you religious faith what do you feel you gain from your religion?
I gain spiritually, an understanding of why certain events occur. I feel safe in my daily routines knowing someone is watching over me. I feel satisfied knowing where I will go after I die, and that evil people will not exist in my heaven. The most important aspect that i feel i gain is safety and security.

Q13. How often do you pray/ worship your divine leader?
every day

Q14. Does praying/worshipping help resolve problems .eg. anxiety or fear?
yes all the time. sometimes people experience hardship, such as sick family member or a death and relying on prayer helps them to get through it. I have experienced such hard ships where praying is the only thing I can rely on.

Q15. How much do you know about other religions?
A lot. I went to a Catholic high school, and am accepting of other religions. I am also interested in other religions, and make sure I learn about them

Q16. Would you convert to another religion if it corresponded more with your way of life? Why/why not?
My religion corresponds with my life so I have no need to convert. I would never convert for anyone but myself. If i feel my religion is not satisfying me in anyway then I would consider. But I have no doubts about my religion, and will continue to be part of the Greek Orthodox religion until i pass away

chizzle: before i start...i'm answering the 'religious faith' questions at the end related to my spiritual beliefs (i'm not part of any structured faith, just hold spiritual beliefs....see q 9)
-------------
Q1. I believe that God:
4. Does not exist

Q2. I think prayer is:
1. Heard by God or angels, and for many people God or angels responds
4. Best understood as a form of meditation or moral awareness
(bit of both)

Q3. I think that following life:
2. There is reincarnation or some other condition
3. There is nothing
(unsure)

Q4. If I had to categorize my own religious and spiritual beliefs, I would say they are:
1. Moderate; part of me is spiritual and part of me is skeptical

Q5. In my view, God:
1. Either does not exist, or God’s nature can never be known

Q6. I think children should:
4. Be exposed to many religious traditions and encouraged to make their own choices

Q7. Which of these four statements comes closest to reflecting your views about the character of existence?
1. Higher purpose comes about through some combination of human and divine effort
2. People should be moral and loving, but life itself is a chemical accident
3. Higher purpose in the universe is everywhere, divinely created and preexistent
4. Regardless of whether we are natural or supernatural in origin, we can give meaning to our lives by practicing love and morality

Q8. Would you consider yourself to be religious?
Spiritual, not religious

Q9. Are your religious beliefs influenced by your parents?
Yes and no....mum brought my bro & i up catholic, then we all kinda renounced that (progressively cut down on how often we went to church till we stopped completely...but both still went to catholic primary & high schools)....but now i believe in more spiritual aspects/ideas (eg. angels, yoga)

Q10. Is your religion a symbol of heritage/culture?
A symbol of my personal heritage/culture? no

Q11. Are you required to sacrifice anything to show respect for the higher power in which you believe? If so, what is it? Eg volunteer work, money.
No

Q12. In you religious faith what do you feel you gain from your religion?
Spiritual/inner balance, bringing happiness, and clarity

Q13. How often do you pray/worship your divine leader?
No divine leader...but if i have something on my mind, i use my fairy cards (kinda like tarot cards..full of positive meanings in relation to a question you have)

Q14. Does praying/worshipping help resolve problems .eg. anxiety or fear?
No praying/worshipping involved...but asking the fairies questions does seem to clear things up and relieve any fears, anxiety, confusion, etc

Q15. How much do you know about other religions?
A fair bit, from religion classes (from kindy to yr 12) and my PIP (Society & Culture major work) was on different religions/spiritual beliefs (particularly related to beliefs after death - reincarnation, heaven/hell/purgatory, nothing)

Q16. Would you convert to another religion if it corresponded more with your way of life? Why/why not?
Yes (imo. who wouldn't!), its not asthough you're bounded for life to the beliefs you were brought up with. i believe that if you find something about your current religion (or its teachings) isn't satisfying to your spiritual needs, you need find another religion/faith/spirituality which does.
