Is a band 6 (90+) in the HSC a raw or aligned mark? (1 Viewer)

If somebody gets 90+ in the HSC overall for a subject, that would be a band 6.
But what about someone who gets 85 in Maths Extension 2, for example. Wouldn't that scale up to a Band 6?

band 6's in mx2 which is called an E4. As for your question, 90+ is still the cut-off for an E4 in mx2

Scaling is used by universities.

Alligning is used by board of studies.


So technically it is the aligned mark

When we get results from board of studies, they're aligned
However UAC scales them to a common scale of 50
So yes 85 in mx2> 90 in standard eng
