Hi so, I just completed my first semester at MAQU majoring in software. I have decided to transfer elsewhere starting in semester 2. I have gotten an offer from UWS in CS, it all way in Penrith and heard the workload is very low. I would go to UNSW but I won’t get an offer there.
So, my last option would be UTS "Computing Science (honours)" not sure why it is called that. OR "Bachelor of Science in Information Technology" which is 3 years. Will this help me get into programming/software engineering roles at IT/software companies?
I looked through the degree handbook and it looked like a mix of IT/business units with some CS. I found the Enterprise Systems Development major and it looks pretty technical and doesn't have business units. It does have some maths units including discrete, algorithms and data structure just like any typical CS degree. I love programming and I am not great at maths but still willing to learn it and catch up cause I never studied it.
Will this be the right major for software development/application and involves a lot of programming? Not sure if you have to choose a major in UNSW CS program as well.
Any thoughts? Also is "Computing Science" actually a CS degree or IT?? I am confused.
