Is it still possible to still possible to obtain a hsc mark for a subject in the 70's or low 80's if you bomb out in an assessment task worth 20% but get in the 80's for all the rest (and by bomb out i mean about 35%)?

Yes, you can still theoretically get 99. The magnitude of your raw marks will be moderated according to your HSC exam performance.
