just now I've found on another website my exact document posted by someone else with my name still there

i don't remember posting it there at all and the school listed is not mine. is it now in public domain?

I still find it scummy that someone reposted it but honestly I assume I have no control over it anymore

In the end, the document is your property. You have full rights to ask for it's removal.

this happened to me a while back so i deleted all of the resources i put up here and i wasnt really sure what to do but im getting rid of it now. never posting my work online again, ill send privately if asked nicely but yeah

a lot of the resources on other websites are reuploaded from here, studocu is especially bad because they make you upload a document to download a document (unless you pay) and so a lot of people will just look for the first thing they have downloaded to upload, which might be your document

just looked up my essays and they’re all uploaded on a few websites too

pretty much yeah, I think they do a quick check to make sure it’s actually what you said and that’s it

one of the uploads of one of my essays has no spaces lol, idk how they stuffed up that bad

People do this cause to unlock and download documents on studuco you have to upload documents to the website. It gives you a 7 days access to download any amount documents per document uploaded

If it’s on ace the hsc , studoc, etc and is done by a student who has completed hsc snd anyone can access it it is deemed public forum . Whilst it can certainly be a source of revenue and exemplar it can’t be copied verbatim and submitted

I guess it’s a grey area but I would say that you still own the copyright since I don’t believe any statement is made otherwise when uploading

well if you haven’t copyrighted it or acknowledged the writer then it’s public property. That’s why I tell students NEVER EVER put current essays on public places ( including BOS) because they could submit it as theirs and there is no proof .

use personal email and date them . i do send essays written by othet students but i date them so they are pre 2025 hsc year so i dont send a current one by accident and 2/ the previous students do know but I dont have to ask as once they have completed hsc the essays etc are no longer needed by them

its probably good to ask me not to show hsc students of 2026 your essay or else you can be helpful by allowing next years cohorts to adopt your masterpiece .
English syllabus will change in 2027 anyway so a lot will b3 redundant

maybe my wanting having it exclusively on here was kind of an ego trip, cos if a kid doesnt see the original doc and fails their year 11 exam thatd suck
