hey i just wanna ask if lets say someone gets an atar of 50 and applies to a uws course thats 65 or 70 can they get accepted in the course ?

i have friends and my 1 of my sisters friend and my work mates friend got atars of around 50 to 55 and got 1 got accepted to B business and commerce and she got 50 and my work mates mate got an atar of 55 and got accepted into B medical science thats like 70 . is it because of number of spots available or something else i wanna know if this is true or not. thanks!

UWS takes pretty much anyone in the GWS region that applies.

You cant get 15. Check the uws site. Im 100% sure its just 10 bonus points.

I guess it depends on numbers as well, I mean if a course is supposed to have x number of students enrolled and only y number of people actually are eligible to get in, they may drop the standards (every uni does this)

We all know that teaching is a good profession, but what he is implying is that someone who is not "academically capable" will be teaching. You know what that might result in, right? If someone gets 38! (not factorial) think again, are they really capable to teach if they completely 'failed' the HSC? Well, there are also other things to be taken into account, not really sure why he didn't do well in the HSC. If he had family issues or medical problems, then.... different story - if it prevented him from at least working. But seriously... 38.... like c'mon, that is almost the lowest ATAR possible.

But good on him at least he got something.

I agree, but if you're not smart enough to pass a course, how can you be expected to teach other people that same course?

Don't think so, a friend of mine who got 41 couldn't get into business at UWS but got offered a diploma course.

However true, another friend who got 50, got an offer with them.

Ridiculous how they claim the max bonus point is 10 though.
