So if all goes well, I'll be getting an offer for B Sc (Adv Maths)/B Comm. at UNSW in the Early February Round. Hitherto, I've been quite lax on deciding on what Commerce major I want to complete.
Now since double major's are not available in that program - I have to pick one. Thankfully, I've narrowed it down to two majors for each degree.
For B Sc (Adv Maths):
- Applied Mathematics
- Statistics
For B Comm:
- Financial Economics
- Finance
How did I do this? Loaded up every single specialisation page and determined what I wanted (or in this case, did not want) by looking at the descriptions of study and some of the course names - because they are often descriptive enough.
Job-wise, I'm... not exactly fussy - as long as it pays well, right? =P
More seriously, I'd like to keep options open - that's why I did the Commerce component. Econometrics is like... applied maths to business stuff isn't it? So would you say that if I was to take econometrics - that would be a tautology of sorts, akin to Quant. Risk and Actuarial?
Though with respect to what I said above, would it be perhaps better to not do Commerce at all and double major in Applied Mathematics and Statistics? (though if I don't get the offer for the double degree - I'll just do that)
Also, to help mitchy_boy and others - are there hot chicks in Commerce?
