i do not understand this question i got from school,
"Give two reasons for finding a substitute of ivory"

I'm not sure where in the syllabus this fits (perhaps an option).

Using only common sense, I'd say:
- Ivory is derived from animal tusks which are needed for their survival in the wild. Removing of their tusks can limit the abilities of certain animals, hindering their ability to eat, hunt and defend themselves which can eventually can eventually, indirectly, cause their death.
- Rapid changes in population due to the death of elephants can then result in an imbalance in the food web causing population changes and ultimately damaging many species that rely on others.
