The following question was in the JRAHS 2011 Trial:



Because the HCl acts as a limiting reagent when the mass of zinc > ~1.1g, I figured it would be best to draw a straight line of best fit that went through the origin.
However, the answers have a curved line of best fit which did not go through the origin.
Perhaps it was to do with the wording of the question: 'line graph', rather than 'line of best fit'?

Anyone care to shed some light on how to approach questions like this?

Lines of best fit do not have to be straight FYI.

Directly from the syllabus:

identifying situations where use of a curve of best fit is appropriate to present graphical
information


You need to interpret the graph and determine the best line of fit for it
