I need some help with an essay about king lear. Basically you have to choose a quote from four choices and write about why you chose this quote and how it best reflects your reading or interpretation of the themes. We also have to consider whether aspects such as setting, characters and context of Shakespear's play enchance or restrict its relevence to us.
Well my interpretation of king Lear is that destiny is determined and if you try to interfere with fate you will be punished, as King Lear took fate into his own hands. I chose the quote "As flies to wanton boys are we to th' gods: They kill us for their sport"
What do you think of that and can you make suggestions on how I can expand on the idea. My school gave us this essay question one week before the english second paper exam. We will have 50 minutes in tthe exam to write this essay.
