HI and if any one is trying out for the Kurt Maths Entrance test for y8s and want to briefly know what they are testing you for I am gonna spill the tea and tell you what it is since i have seen a lot of comments before and it didn't rlly help me on studying for it.

I have recently tried out for the y8 entrance test for Kurt and it was unsurprisingly impossible hard. They were focusing on algebras and factorise evaluate and simplify questions and don't get me wrong they are extremely hard. There are also some find the angle degree questions which are less harder. There are a total of 12 main question on the test and 42 question including the a b c questions inside. That is what all i am gonna say and Good luck on your test P.S If you are sure that you got half or more questions right than you will probs get in since this is not y8 level the questions are super duper long so be careful
no way i took the yr8 test too like a month ago and failed even tho i go to a top 10 and im somewhat good at maths but yea i legit came in unprepared because i didnt know wht topics were in the test

unpopular piece of advice: if you dont get in after 1, max 2 attempts just dont go there bc youre likely gonna fail the fortnightly tests very badly after you get in if you only barely made it. also if you are kind of bad at maths and want to improve also dont go there bc kurt is meant for already smart people to get even better. its a hard pill to swallow but you need to be honest with yourself as to where you are with your performance in maths and if what you need from maths tutoring is being met by kurt (ik some dumbasses that go to kurt and get another maths tutor bc they dont understand the kurt stuff. atp just go somewhere else).

anyone that is smart but cant get in can benefit from going to another tutoring centre (i reccommend dr du, still competitive and worth it if you are in A1 or A2 classes). and that doesnt make you stupid or anythign but you can expect to get very little handholding/thorough explanations of concepts (kurt often gets annoyed when you are confused after he explains it once). youre expected to thug it out if you dont understand or are struggling with the workload or whatever. again not worth it if youre acc struggling with stuff, go kurt if youre good at maths and trying to get better.

as for entrance exam tips: spend a little bit more time on the first half of the test and try and get everythign you know 100% right (dont skip working and check your answers properly) and attempt at least a little bit of each part of the second half for whatever you know. dont be too upset if you leave the last question or two blankas long as you attempted the rest of it well and most of it is right.

even if you dont get abover 50% or whatever it is there is still a chance he can accept you mainly based off the mathematical logic and understanding you show in your responses kurt acc said this to my class once, he said most people fail the entrance test and some of them still get accepted anyways).
