Show that x-6/x-1=1-5/x-1 hence find x-6/x-1

the answer is x-5lnx-1 but i dont know where the first x comes from?

Use brackets next time.

(x-6)/(x-1)=(x-1-5)/(x-1)
=[(x-1)-5]/(x-1)
=1-5/(x-1)

I have no idea what you're asked to find.
