I'm writing a 1920's style crime fiction and am applying among others, Marxist thoery. I am doing this through the way people in the story rebel against prohibition through the importation of bootlegged alcohol, and have 'underground' organisations known as 'speakeasies' that act as bars/pubs.
Just wondering if anyone else has any ideas on other ways of applying Marxist theory.

my cf teacher will often talk about the corruption of the upper class as a part of marxist readings of texts like the big sleep - maybe you could make the rich people bad? i doubt that helps though.
