Hi everyone!
I have an assignment atm for English on Emma and CLueless and the question is
'While the context and values, language and textual form have changed, the messages in Clueless are essentially the messages that Jane Austen communicated to her audience in Emma. Do you agree?'
My question is what are the 'messages'? Are the messages the equivalent of the themes and ideas that are common to both texts?
Also - does anyone have any advice as to how this question shoud be set out? We are told that we are writing for an English Study booklet thing. I am not sure if i should do paragraphs on each of the 'messages' and integrate the context, values, language and textual form to show whether they have or have not changed or if i need to do separate paragraphs on each context, values, language and textual form and then paragraphs on messages?
Thanx!!
