Question:

Calculate the current being carried by two parallel conductors being spaced 6cm apart, if the force between the two conductors is 7.5x 10^-4

I got

7.5 x 10^-4 = (2pi x 10^-7 I1I2)/(0.06)

I1I2 = 71.62.

THe answer was I = 15.

I'm confused as to what "current being carried by two parallel conductors " is

I'm not sure what formula you used to find 71.62, but heres my method

Use this formula, this is the force per unit length for a parallel conductor. This question is asking you to find current.

Rearranging for current and subbing in known values you will get I1*12=225. (Here I've assumed that the force given is force per unit length since they didn't specifically give a length) Once you get 225A, you realise the current running between two parallel conductors is equal, then it is simply sqrt225, which is equal to 15 :)

Yup. I see what you did. I used the same formula, however I kinda fucked up with the U0 part. Thanks
