Which version? There are a few? Do you know the Director or actors in it? Also, what is your prescribed text..because that makes a difference...
If you are referring to the 'teenage heart-break' film directed by Richard Ayoade I would reconsider; I can't really identify and STRONG belonging elements that would be worthy of an HSC essay. Keep looking

Mrs_missile.....I just read in another post that your prescribed text is Skrzynecki's immigrant Chronicles'. I would definitely not use 'Submarine' for this prescribed text as it doesn't deal with the immigrant experience nor is it dealing with issues of belonging in a similar 'age bracket'.
