My creative writing story sounds similar to another? (1 Viewer)

I have this short story that I love, I'm really proud of it and I'm so hoping the English exam question will fit it. However while I was reading other stories for inspiration to write a back-up story, I came across a poem I haven't seen before that has a similar idea to the one in my story. The plot is different, different conflict, different ending but the main idea is pretty much the same. I was even more annoyed when I saw that they even use words that I've used in my story. Clearly my idea was not as original as I thought. But I'm really worried now that if by chance the marker knows the poem, I may be wrongly accused of plagiarism if they think I based my idea on it. Obviously there's no copy and paste involved, not a single sentence is the same as the poem, however I'm wondering how pedantic do they get about ideas? Cause now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if this idea has been done before in the HSC, its not the most innovative idea but I got full marks for it so I would really like to keep it as I simply don't have time to write and remember another story. And in my opinion, no idea is ever really original, we absorb what we hear and see so surely they are bound to get similar stories from time to time.

I wouldn't be so anxious about this if it was just a school assignment, but I have no idea what HSC markers are like and would not like for my head to be chopped off over pure coincidence. Would like to hear if anyone knows how strict they are or if they're really crazy about similar ideas and stuff, any information will be appreciated.

There are definitely similar ideas across the state..
no one could came up with an new idea that no one have thought of in the previous exams.
if not much similarities, don't worry
